Travelling By Air to Antigua

Air travellers enter Antigua and Barbuda through the V.C. Bird International Airport. The airport is situated on the northeast corner of the island. Both direct flights and connections are available from North America via San Juan and St. Martin. Flights from Europe are generally weekly. To visit the neighbouring islands, visitors can choose from the scheduled flights or make use of charter services.

Travelling to Antigua and Barbuda By Sea

Cruise ships dock at St. John's Harbour and Heritage Quay. Both are easily accessible from the capital city and are not far from the lovely beaches and water sports either. Crabbs Marina in the northeast, English Harbour and St. James' club, both in the south, and St. John's Harbour in the west coast are the points of entry for private boats.

Getting Around Antigua

Taxis

Taxis are easily available in Antigua. You can obtain the fares between several destinations after arriving, and most of these rates are fixed. Taxi drivers are often qualified to double as tour guides and can show you around. Tour rates are available at hotels or you can obtain them earlier too.

Rental Cars

This is perhaps the best way to discover all that Antigua has to offer. Rental cars cost around US$40-50 per day. You will have to show the agency a valid driver's license from your country of residence, an international driver's license, and a permit to drive in Antigua. This can be obtained with the help of the rental agency. It costs around US$20, with a validity of three months.
